Tablescape at the Avenue Magazine dinner held at Zaha Hadid 520 W 28th Street including a Chefanie Sheet inspired by Hadid's works, a hand painted menu painted by Chefanie herself, vases designed by Zaha Hadid for Alessi, and flowers by Mark Masone.

On April 28th, Victory Club members gathered with friends of Avenue Magazine in Zaha Hadid's New building, 520 West 28th Street in Manhattan.

Chilled cauliflower soup with a bridge-stick modelled after Hadid's Sheikh Zayed Bridge was served as the first course.

Tiago Correria, US Director of Zaha Hadids Architects, spoke to Victory Club members and friends of Avenue Magazine about the new building, Zaha Hadid's body of work, and how the new building complements and expands her oeuvre.

Chefanie served a meal inspired by Zaha Hadid. The starter was a chilled cauliflower soup with a bridge-stick (breadstick modeled after Hadid's Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi.) For the main course, guests were presented with Chicken Paillard with spring vegetables topped with grated parmesan cheese, grated by the Zaha Hadid cheese grater from Alessi.

Finally guests enjoyed classic Chefanie sheet cakes with a Zaha Hadid twist. Black vanilla cake with marble Chefanie sheets.

It was wonderful to host another event with Avenue Magazine in the beautiful setting of 520 West 28th Street.

Welcome to the online home of Victory Club, a supper club that brings together friends of friends over the culinary and visual arts.

Victory Club developed out of a post-college need, when it became harder to engage with the arts and meet people through that engagement.

Join.

The name, "Folded Victory," was inspired by an Elizabeth Bishop poem and alludes to a passion for finding beauty in everyday things. Bishop talks about "folded sunsets": sunsets that look like they're folding as they sink into the West but also flat images of the most regular thing. Folded victories are excellent things, captured and shared. Victory Club brings people together to celebrate those victories. We hope you'll get in the mix!
